Hestar - the Icelandic Horses

After hearing how riding an Icelandic horse feels like you're riding a leather couch, we decided to give it a try (This was also Ben's Christmas present to Jess because he knows how much she wanted to go). We enrolled in the "Lava Tour" for beginners with a local stable, but decided to tag along with the faster group, despite not having much experience. "What better time to learn?" we both thought. There are no pictures during the ride because we were both holding on for dear life. Here we are after the ride. . . relieved.

After a morning riding through Lava fields, we returned to the stables where the horses were happy to have us off their backs. This is Glæsír and Brown-star.
